LAS VEGAS --- The first Motorola Droid was perhaps the greatest Android handset the
world has ever seen, that is until the new Droid 4 came along. This keyboard slider is what
the Droid 3 should have been, an LTE-equipped dual-core monster of a smartphone.
When it became clear the Motorola Droid 3 wasn't going to flaunt a speedy 4G LTE connection, the collective groan
uttered by die- hard Droid owners was likely heard from orbit. The Droid 4 finally combines the golden trifecta of
Android, keyboard, and Verizon 4G LTE into one mobile device.
Even better, when I placed the Motorola Droid 4 into my hands for the first time and touched the keyboard I
instantly new this phone is going to make old school Droid fans very happy. The five row, rubberized keys felt very
comfortable indeed and it backlit square-style layout looks simply stunning. The Droid 4's 1.2 GHz dual-core
processor also flipped through the handset's Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS with buttery smoothness. Of course I
can't wait until I can taste Ice Cream Sandwich running on the Droid 4.
To be fair, the Motorola Droid 4 is no ultra-slim fashion plate and will challenge tight pockets. Even so this device
fills a huge gap in Verizon's line up, and the U. S. Android market, that passionate keyboard fans were aching for.
